The Aubagne International Film Festival started in 1999. Since its beginning, our principal aim has been to focus on the creation of sound and music for picture. For both the short and long films that are entered in competition, an original music score or a special work of sound is always the inspiration.
The Festival also offers valuable support for new international film production and has become known as an event where young directors, composers and sound designers can meet to exchange ideas and form creative collaborations. Each year it presents several masterclasses on composition alongside seminars, round tables, ciné-concerts and more, always putting the spotlight on the relationship between the soundtrack and image.
